Feeling overlooked at work

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit overlooked at work. I put in the effort and try to be consistent, but sometimes it feels like my contributions aren’t really noticed or acknowledged.

I don’t want to come across as ungrateful, but it’s been affecting my motivation. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you handle it without creating tension?

I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. That can be such a quiet but heavy feeling to carry. It’s hard when you’re putting in consistent effort and it doesn’t feel seen.

I’ve felt something similar before, and what helped me was reminding myself of the impact I know I’m making, even if it’s not always highlighted. At the same time, I also realised sometimes it’s okay to gently advocate for yourself — not in a confrontational way, but by sharing updates or achievements more visibly.

You’re not wrong for wanting your work to be recognised. It’s a very human need.
