Trying to get back into exercise after a long break

I’ve been trying to get back into some kind of regular exercise after a long break, and I didn’t expect it to feel this hard. My energy isn’t what it used to be, and I find myself starting and stopping a lot.

I don’t want to go extreme just something sustainable that I can actually stick to. If you’ve restarted your fitness routine before, what helped you stay consistent without burning out?

I relate to this so much. I actually posted something similar recently because I realised I don’t have the energy (or interest) for extreme routines anymore either.

What’s been helping me lately is keeping it really simple — I’ve started doing light yoga and a bit of meditation in the morning. Nothing intense, just enough to move my body and clear my head. Somehow that feels more sustainable than jumping back into heavy workouts.

I’ve also stopped expecting myself to “pick up where I left off.” I’m treating it like a fresh start instead of comparing it to my old fitness level.

Curious to see what others suggest too — restarting is definitely harder than we expect.
