Trying to make my space feel calmer without a full makeover

I’ve been wanting my home to feel a bit calmer and more put together, but I don’t have the budget (or energy) for a full redesign.

I’m wondering what small changes actually made a noticeable difference for you lighting, decluttering, plants, rearranging furniture? I’d love ideas that are simple but effective.

I love this because I’ve felt the same way — wanting a shift without turning it into a full project.

For me, decluttering made the biggest difference. Even clearing just one surface (like a table or bedside) instantly made the space feel calmer. Lighting helped too — switching to warmer lights or adding a small lamp instead of just overhead lighting changed the vibe a lot.

Plants are great if you enjoy them, but even something simple like rearranging furniture slightly or adding fresh bedsheets can make the room feel new without spending much.
